Dr. Farzana Kurwa graduated from Bristol Dental School in the UK and relocated to Canada with her young family in 2008. After witnessing the heightened need for connection and meaningful interaction in the wake of the pandemic, she realized that people were also seeking high-quality aesthetic services with visible results. Driven by this, Dr. Kurwa set out to create a welcoming, client-centered facility designed to meet these needs in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Dr. Habib Kurwa is a Clinical Professor and dermatologist with a specialization in skin cancer treatment. He served as the Director of Dermatological Surgery for the University of Calgary’s Division of Dermatology, where he trained the next generation of dermatology physicians in skin cancer recognition and treatment. Dr. Kurwa takes pride in building relationships with his patients and ensuring their comfort during procedures. With 16 years of experience serving patients in Calgary, he is dedicated to providing the highest quality care. Outside of work, Dr. Kurwa enjoys drawing and painting, and is currently working towards his Masters in Liberal Arts at St. John's College.
Arielle is a Certified Laser Technician and came into the aesthetic industry after 15 years of experience in the field of nursing. Her passion has always been skin and laser technology, with a keen interest in educating her clients on the right choice of treatment for their specific concerns.
Outside of Skinfluence, Arielle is a busy soccer mom to her three kids, and enjoys long walks with gorgeous silver Labrador, Onyx
Michelle has always had a passion for the cosmetics industry, having accumulated almost a decade of experience within it. Most recently, she has obtained her Clinical Aesthetic Certificate from the Esthetics institute, and joins us after successfully establishing a dermatological section within an existing general clinic. She prides herself in her ability to work alongside you to determine a plan that will benefit you both in the short and long term!
On her off days, she loves to go shopping and hang out with her family. She also loves playing with her bichon shihtzu, Muffin.
Biljana is a Master Medical Aesthetician and Certified instructor. She has been teaching and consulting for 17 years and is currently working as an RN in the AHS. Her passion is understanding the science behind how skin functions, what it needs to be in optimal health, and how we can use our knowledge of laser technology and medical grade products to get the best from our skin. Biljana loves spending time with her amazing family and enjoying the outdoors with her three highly energetic dogs.
Sabine will greet you on the phone or when you first walk into Skinfluence - her fun sense of humour and positivity brings a brightness to the clinic each day! Originally from Vienna, Sabine speaks 3 languages and has a background in the airline industry and in education. She provides client support in every area from scheduling appointments to providing information on pricing and memberships, all whilst regaling us with a funny story or anecdote! When not at work, you will find Sabine on a road trip to the mountains or ocean, baking, gardening, knitting, scrapbooking or card making.
